C’è chi vorrebbe rintracciare in Italia l’origine di questo grande vitigno bordolese, sostenendo che altro non fosse, alle sue origini, che la famosa Biturica celebrata da Plinio nell’antichità, introdotta poi in Gallia dai legionari romani. Noi possiamo soltanto affermare con certezza che la predilezione del vitigno per i climi asciutti e ventilati e per i terreni argillosi e ben drenati lo rende di allevamento ideale nelle colline d’Abruzzo. Il risultato è un vino di colore rosso rubino, dai profumi intensi di frutta matura, con tipici sentori erbacei e fini note speziate, dal gusto armonico con tannini vellutati.

The result is a ruby red wine, with intense aroma of ripe fruit, typical grassy notes and fine hints of spice, with a harmonic, smooth tannin flavor.
